15 Year Limited Warranty

1. The Limited Warranty (“Warranty”):

Subject to the terms and conditions set forth below, NorthStar Barge (“Company”) warrants to the original retail purchaser of a NorthStar Barge product from an authorized NorthStar Barge dealer (“Purchaser”) that the Parts defined in section 2 below will be free from defects in material or workmanship at the time of purchase, and NorthStar Barge will repair or replace any Part that is not free from defect in material or workmanship at the time of purchase provided that NorthStar Barge is notified in writing of the defect by Purchaser during the Warranty Period.


2. Disclaimer of All Other Warranties:

NorthStar Barge makes no other warranties, either express or implied, other than the Warranty, and no representative of the Company or an authorized NorthStar Barge dealer has the authority to make any other warranty in addition to the Warranty.


3. Restrictions on Warranty:

The following restrictions apply to the Warranty, the failure to abide by any one of which will void the Warranty:

  • 30 Day Notice. Purchaser must provide NorthStar Barge written notice by certified mail to the address in Section 6 below within 30 days of when the Purchaser discovers or should have discovered the defects in Part(s).

  • No improper use or alterations. The Parts must not have been altered by more than normal use and wear and must not have been improperly installed or used. In addition, Purchaser must have complied with all applicable provisions in the NorthStar Barge Owners Manual regarding the proper use, storage and care for the Parts.

  • No Transfer: The Warranty applies to the Original Purchaser and is not transferable.

  • Repairs: Purchaser must have all repairs under this Warranty performed by an authorized NorthStar Barge dealer.

  • Proper Documentation Requirements: Upon request by NorthStar Barge, Purchaser must provide documentation verifying proof of purchase, purchase date, Purchaser’s name and address, and serial number / model number.

  • Damages Excluded: All damage to parts caused by (1) wind, fire, or other acts of nature or (2) damage resulting from poor or bad usage are not covered by the Warranty.

4. Replacement Exclusive Remedy:

The Company’s sole obligation under the Warranty is to repair or replace Parts that were defective at the time of purchase by Purchaser when brought to the Company’s attention during the Warranty Period. Repair or replacement of defective parts is the exclusive remedy provided for by the Warranty, and the Company expressly disclaims all other remedies. The Company will not pay for any labor cost or other expenses incurred in replacing any defective goods other than those authorized by the Company in writing and performed by an authorized NorthStar Barge dealer.

Company will not be liable for any incidental or consequential damages related to the NorthStar Barge product it sells, including (but not limited to) any damages, losses, costs, or expenses resulting from loss of use of the goods, loss of time, inconvenience, loss or damage to real or personal property, loss of income, loss of profits, property damages, or personal injuries.


5. Warranty Period and Coverage:

The Warranty is limited to each of the following parts (each a “Part” and, collectively, “Parts”), with the period for notifying the Company of a defect in a particular Part (“Warranty Period”) as set forth below:

A. Ten years from the date of purchase by the original Purchaser for a structural part of the NorthStar Barge product. Excluding fabric, motors, cables, pulleys, sheaves, rollers, bunks, and plastic covers.

B. Defects in materials and workmanship of structural components of the lift frame are covered fully for 10 years from the date of purchase. NorthStar Barge will provide replacement parts for 10 years for these items if they are found to be defective. Structural warranty consists of the aluminum framework making up the structure. An additional 5 year pro-rated warranty covers these components.

C. Ten years from the date of purchase by Purchaser for cables and pulleys.
D. Five years from the date of purchase by Purchaser for Hydraulic Pump Motor.
E. Two years from the date of purchase by Purchaser for Electronics.

Notwithstanding any of the foregoing, if the NorthStar Barge product is exposed at any point to a salt-water environment, then the Warranty Period for all parts will be one year from the date of purchase by Purchaser.

  1. Electronics: All electrical components are covered fully for 2 years.

  2. Hydraulics: Hydraulic Pump is covered fully for 2 years.
